Spin Chat Help and Information System
What should I be aware of with registering?
- Do not "share" email addresses.
- Do not "share" nicknames.
- Do not tell anybody the password for your nickname.
Why is that? Because all these things, in case you do them nonetheless, sooner or later will lead to problems:
If you borrow from or "share" an email address or even a nickname e.g. with your best friend, this person has access to the nick, and that is bad as you can never say, how long this mutual trust will persist, and then your formerly best friend possibly has access to your account...
Possible consequences:
- One can change the nickname's password, and in case one does not tell you about it, you do not have access to your nick anymore.
- One can change the email address registered to the nickname; then you possibly do not have access to your nick anymore.
- One can delete the nickname.
- One can change the profile arbitrarily, also to the disadvantage of yours, without you having any influence on that.
- One can fool around with "your" nickname: e.g. one could write mean entries in other people's, also your friends', guestbooks or via chatmail; one could annoy other people, also your friends, in the chat; one could read your chatmails, etc.
Overall, one can infringe the Terms and Conditions with your nickname in several ways, what might result in the ban of the nick...
So consider well, if you really want to take so many risks.
