Every time I check the "Use Java" option in my settings, it disconnects me from the chat and says

Chat connection

Disconnect from chat to read board entries, mails or similar entries without being disturbed (by dialogues).
Connection is being made...

When I get back online it doesn't have that box checked anymore. This happened with my old computer and this is happening with my new one as well.

Any idea why?

When I click a game it says:

Error

We are sorry, but you need Java in order to play this game in your web browser.

Please install Java, and log in again.

You might have to activate the check box "Use Java" under Start > Settings > Chat.

Do you have Java installed in your system?

A friend sent me a link to install it, I'll reinstall it and see if it works.

It seems SPiN is not 'remembering' a lot of things that one changes; the Java
setting, and [for me] which choice of presenting 'friends' on the 'home' page:
name only; small thumbnail photos; large thumbnail photos.

It seems to me this happened once before a long while back; I don't remember
what the 'cure' for it was, however, but I believe their ultimately was one. Hence,
my still having troubles with it.

Java is automatically deactivated in the Spinchat settings if Java obviously does not work on your computer.

If does not "forget" it: but if you delete your cookies - where this information is stored - it's gone.
