31 Oct 2011 11:27 Re:Reply to Games of Thrones by eccentric_19 Game of Thrones was an excellent book and I'm in the process of reading the rest of them. I would recommend The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan and the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind. I also recommend anything by Terry Pratchett and obviously, if you havn't read it already, the Grandaddy of them all... Lord of the Rings :) |

But I bought the first one and I must say, that he is a fine writer! really catchy and sometimes very clever :) And I like the fact that none of the characters are pure goodness and that everyone is plotting against everyone. And the fact that they are just killed to the left and right - you lose ground under your feet, but in a cool way :) |

22 Feb 2012 19:17 replyReply to Games of Thrones by eccentric_19 Ive read all the books from "song of ice and fire" series except the last one (but ive waited for 6 years, so i guess another few months wont hurt). Martin is an impressive writer, but i just hope he finishes the series before he dies.. lol He is quite exceptional and coherent as well, considering the topics he covers. He has sense for both drama, If you like such fiction, you might consider reading Guy Kay, or Tad Williams as well. Andrzej Sapkowski offers |
