24 Nov 2011 12:14 omfgare you serious? really, what rock do you live under??? do you have ANYTHING positive to say? i can say with all certainty that WE have already made a difference. if you follow any american media, you cannot help but notice that the conversation has taken a dramatic turn, from the street to the legislatures to homes to boardrooms. that is only ONE example and it is HUGE! what did you do to change the world today? btw, i posted that because it's funny, not to tighten anyone's (your) sphincter any further. it's funny cuz it's true. when these fools pepper spray us or beat us or simply stomp on our civil rights, they do us the favor of galvanizing our solidarity and dedication and shining a light on the fascism-lite that is commonplace in this country. |
24 Nov 2011 13:17 rewhat rock do YOU live under? have YOU PERSONALLY 1 Done And they are nothing more than CONVERSATIONS, IF they are happening at all. would you care to link some reputable sites with such claims? any site dedicated to OWS will not As for tightened Sphincters, judging by your reply, you sound like you choked on something a little OWS has done nothing. ZIP. ZERO. NOTHING, other than dirty up otherwise clean streets, I got a suggestion for you lady, shove your assumptions up your arse, untwist your panties, remember...reputable news sites with your claims... |
24 Nov 2011 19:54 peaceful protestorsArm you an armed, law enforcement officer – with a helmet, face shield and body armor? Do you feel "threatened" when "surrounded" by a group of seated, ? Do you think a badge and a gun gives you the right to lift up your leg and pee on the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States? Why merely step over those peaceful, seated students when you can spray the crap out of them with a Defense Technology 58695 MK-9 Stream pepper spray blaster? Yes, that's right. You'll be the envy of all of your jack-booted thug friends when you deal out some major pain and suffering to people who have the nerve to exercise their right to peaceful protest in Amurca. Be a YouTube hit! Become a meme! With a little luck, you could even become the world-wide poster boy for fascism. |
24 Nov 2011 20:22 google it for me?that's your response? i believe you can open any news site you like and get news of some sort. if you weren't so nasty, i'd probably be happy to find you some good articles. you are though. for the same reason, just as i did before, i respectfully decline to play your stupid anger games. you can enlighten yourself or not. i don't believe it's possible in your case but i am an eternal optimist. probably a waste of typing, but let me point out the obvious for those who can't see it. i posted something funny. it brought much-needed levity to a very serious issue. it made me laugh and i had hoped it would make others laugh or smile. you may wish to check your own panties/arse/throat to figure out why you had to respond like you did. peace to all, even douchebags :) |
24 Nov 2011 20:34 p.s.don't be dense. conversation refers to what everyone is talking about from the playgrounds and living rooms to ALL the media to every politician in this vast country. talking isn't just chitchat, it's making those in power know the will of the people and that we will not be quiet or go home as they sorely wish. i've read internal memos and reports from banks, companies, politicians. i assure you, the occupations are topmost on many of their agendas. would submitting legislative proposals and position statements be good enough for you? i and a working group are in the middle of drafting a proposal/resolution to have HB87–Georgia's anti-immigrant law–struck down in its entirety. others are working on campaign finance reform, particularly getting congress to strike down Citizen's United. oh! and georgia's getting ready to waste time on a bill like mississippi's, the one where sperm and ova are persons with the same rights as any other person. wtf, right? so yeah, we're talking a lot. talking about action and change and demanding to have a voice in the process again. |

25 Nov 2011 01:22 reIt wasnt levity. You outright went about insulting me, then when that charade was called out, > ITS BEING SPOKEN ABOUT ITS IN THE NEWS! See, when you enter an argument, It doesnt matter who you are, for or against, if you make But we've discussed this matter before about how to debate, so its an obvious waste of time, the only "douchebag" around here, is yourself, and you'll remain as such until you can provide |

25 Nov 2011 06:19 rei manage quite well, and i dont want for anything. But your assumptions amuse me. do continue. |
26 Nov 2011 04:52 raistlinseriously, this is tedious. do you want to talk to me or anyone here or continue being nasty and demeaning? as i said before, i have no wish to play stupid anger games. for one thing, i am too busy WORKING (for a paycheck and voluntarily) to accomplish my goals. for another, life is too fkn short for crap like that. believe me, i know exactly what i want. if you really care to learn more, check out the guardian uk site and the new york times. you will find numerous articles of depth and insight. it's been amazing to notice how many articles i come across daily that answer all your questions and even enlighten me about things happening that hadn't even occurred to me. a radio program on democracynow.org that i heard of this afternoon (dated nov 25) , mainly the naomi wolf portion, addressed your questions elaborately and eloquently. this article was interesting too: http://www.utne.com/Politics/Civil-Society-Ground-Zero-Rebecca-Solnit.aspx so there's an olive branch for ya. i hope you do read more and learn more but i guess i understand if you don't. if you or anyone wants to talk to me about it or anything, i'm happy to do so. ask anyone here that knows me, i'm very friendly and reasonable too. just please stop talking to me if you're going to continue in the same vein. thanks. |
26 Nov 2011 05:19 reYes....but how do we know these links/sources are credible? Probably just a bunch of biased hippie opinions printed on websites made of hemp :P |
26 Nov 2011 06:48 well, sharlait seems i might have heard somewhere that the mainstream media doesn't actually get the stories right a lot of the time. who to trust? ;) |
