Great debates, thoughts, ideas, even great arguments get lost because you guys think it has to be taken down. If anything, why not just close the thread? You are doing a disservice to this entire community by doing that!

I know this thread could get blocked, closed, and possibly deleted. I dislike censorship in my coffee. So stop it, please. You're really not saving anyone that way.

yeah I think theres bit of an over reaction going on.....

I've found myself become tired of reading all these "my religions / beliefs are right and yours aren't" arguements. But it does show what is wrong with the world today. Sure, you don't all have to share the same beliefs as I do, but I can respect your views and maybe even find insights into my own beliefs by reading about how others see things. But almost all these threads boil down to "I'm right and if you try to tell me otherwise I'm gonna call you nasty names" in the end. So either grow up, or stop reading these topics and go be disrespectful elshewhere. I'm not saying this to one person but am speaking in general, just so there's no misunderstandings.

I've had my own experiences with her, she just likes to be over-protective of people who get insulted for any reason, and feels like she should force her censorship onto everyone else. In other words, she doesn't feel like people should be able to choose what they believe or do not believe, she would rather just delete the whole board and have no one get hurt.

If you don't agree with censorship you need to find another board. That's why I don't attempt to voice my opinion here anymore. People like Hikari bullied me out. ;)

Perhaps we are doing her a misservice and its admin? And I dunno, If I was without sin I would cast a few stones too but uhm..hmm lol :-P

What a load of crap. SPiN is not a democracy; there is a set of rules the users have to abide by. If people decide not to, then she is expected to enforce the rules by any means she deems necessary.

Don't like it? Find another board to post on. Nobody ever guaranteed total freedom of speech as evident by the set of rules the admins have laid down.

Yes, that would typically involve censoring the post in question, not deleting an entire thread.

That was the first post I have made here in quite some time, actually, as I had done just that. I saw my chance to get a nice post in and I took it.

And of course freedom of speech isn't allowed here, isn't that about the gist of what I said?

In the future, if you have any questions about the moderating that takes place on this board, please send your questions to my mail inbox (I'll be happy to help) or to spin admin. These kinds of threads don't belong here and I will always have to lock them down.

In this particular case, I won't be able to tell you why these threads are being deleted, since I wasn't the one deleting them (contrary to what some ... errr... disgruntled contributors believe). I do have an idea though, which has to do with the initiator of said threads being persona non grata on this site.

Personally, I prefer having threads that have already been replied to locked instead of deleted except for really vile cases that violate German law. But that's me.

Modding a board has nothing to do with my personal feelings. There are rules for contributing and if you do not like that fact, just don't contribute.

Anyone may believe what they want, they may simply not post contributions in any way they want. I'm not sure how this is hard to understand.

If you can't post your opinions without personal attacks and insults, yes, it is probably better to find another place to 'voice' them. That I 'bullied' you out, is a downright lie. You never posted a single conribution since I became a moderator. Gotta love a person with an agenda.
