24 Apr 2012 14:24 Reading GenesisI found a great video from the Irish Dominicans, on reading Genesis. He explains the richness that sacred scripture offers, that so many are quick to overlook. For those of you who are open minded and are interested in reading scripture, you'll benefit greatly from this. |

27 Apr 2012 07:16 I don't seeReply to Reading Genesis by MyUsername any actual discussion of theology going on which is what this thread seemed to be intended for. Maybe the usual suspects could stop using this thread to disseminate their agendas and get discussing instead or else I will close this thread. Thank you kindly. |
27 Apr 2012 08:23 reactually, adam and eve are all about genesis, and i was curious about the belly button |
27 Apr 2012 10:15 I don't thinkmost Christians today take the Bible quite so literally or are at all concerned about those trivial questions. |

29 Apr 2012 14:23 reWhen the church split, the protestants rejected the pope's authority, amongst other things. But foolishly, the writings and works of the saints. Hundreds of years of patient study and work. When they did this, they also threw away the understanding of depth and richness scripture offers. So fundamentalism was born. Creationists being a good example. It's explained well in the video. |
29 Apr 2012 14:26 re> Now, I still don't see any theology discussion going on. Maybe because what's shared in the video makes so much sense, and atheists have nothing to say? I can't see how anyone can rebuke the friars teaching. |
29 Apr 2012 14:41 alsoReply to re by myusername If scripture is inspired by God, who is infinite creativity, then it only makes sense that it is, what the friar describes as 'an endless well of wisdom and truth'. This explains why there are over 30.000 christian demoninations. |
