Re

Why so bitter, young'uns?

Norwegian Wood, Eleanor Rigby, Ob-La-Di, Obl-La-Da, Julia... To be fair though, I prefer George Harrison and John Lennon solo, but they were still a great band. One of my best photos of London was of Abbey Road.

There are so many ...

I can still remember watching CBS TV in the USA on the Sunday night
when the Beatles first appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show during their
first visit to the USA. I even remember the TV news report of the Big
"British Invasion" .. :banger:

Keep in mind I listened to music/songs then mostly for the instrumental
parts, not necessarily the lyrics, because of my hearing loss then ..
though I could hear fairly well as a teen-ager, it was only out of one
ear; now, I'm almost totally deaf, and I hear songs from my memory ..
Some of my Beatles favs [no particular order] ..

  • "Lady Madonna"
  • "Please Please Me"
  • "Ticket to Ride"
  • "When I'm Sixty-Four"
  • "I Saw Her Standing There"
  • "I Feel Fine"

Impossible ...

.. to choose just one song - well for me it is anyway.

Can't Buy Me Love
I Feel Fine
Penny Lane
I'll Follow The Sun
You're Gonna Lose That Girl
Things We Said Today
Hello Goodbye
Taxman ...

It's hopeless - I could go on for hours. Beatles made so much wonderful music !!

Re

Helter Skelter, I Am The Walrus, I Want You (She's So Heavy) and Michelle :)

And I don't think The Beatles are overrated. Overhyped maybe, yes, but not overrated. The way they combined different elements from different bands to create their own success-formula was genius, if you ask me.

Geez Miez!

I always knew you had taste, good choices. The A-side of Abbey Road is full of winners (except that stoopid Ringo song), and George's Something has always been one of my favourites

I change my mind

Abbey Road is my favorite album :)

And that Ringo song is silly because drummers should never write ;)

Btw, check your spinmail, I'm sending you a link to my new demo (which I promised)

I love Happiness is a warm gun... The rythm structure is genius. It was one of our assigned songs last semester, we had to be able to play it with our band within 1,5 hour, was a nice challenge :)

i'll bet

But my two favorite albums are the white album and abbey road. I used to despise abbey road until I forced myself to listen to it several times. And suddenly a lightbulb went off in my head. Now I play and sing it constantly on wii beatles rock band. I want you she's so heavy is now a favorite of mine. But really, listen to long long long from the white album. It almost brings tears to your eyes. The beatles and the doors are timless music.

No.

He was eight years older than my Dad. Ha ha. My Dad used to go The Cavern, never saw them there though. Although, his barber was Rory Storm of The Hurricanes fame which was Ringo's band prior to The Beatles.
