Maybe Jesus came back from an egg... 1

Re

The "resurrection of Christ" never happened and "Jesus" never existed.

Easter is an ancient pagan festival to celebrate the vernal equinox (end of winter, nature turning green again etc.), and bunnies and eggs are symbols of fertility.

Easter has been hijacked by christianity the way yule and thanksgiving have been hijacked by that idiot religion. However, the christians weren't able to completely extinguish the pagan symbolism.

Yep, happy easter!

I don't even know if any of that's correct, but I'm digging it as a non-christian..
My grandparents always make me dress up and go waste time at church.
I feel out of place there, like they can sense my maliciousness.

What the hell is a non-christian? Agnostic*

lets not forget the tradition behind LENT now.

this was a thing followed by almost all christians, the 6 weeks leading up to easter,
it was forbidden to eat eggs, so everybody would en-masse eat/get rid of all their eggs
the day before LENT, then crack into em again when lent finished.

Eggs?

Lent "According to the apostolic constitution of Pope Paul VI (1966), "the law of abstinence forbids the use of meat, but not of eggs, the products of milk or condiments made of animal fat.

Growing up, I don't remember at all, that we weren't allowed to eat eggs.

clear answer

At the time easter began to be celebrated, the major religion in the areas were pagan. the ressurrection occured close to the date of the pagan holiday in which they worshipped the pagan god of fertility Ishtar. (also known as easter) eggs and rabbits represent fertility, and that is why they are used. personally i call easter ressurection day. it seems more appropriet in my opinion.

Me and a few mates had an easter we called resurrection day once.
Somebody ate some bad fish, and it just kept coming back time and time again...
