WTF is wrong with this nail polish?

Ladies, I hope you can solve this "all important" mystery.

I have a problem with my nail polish. After painting my toe nails and letting them dry, a mysterious powdery white film formed on them. I can buff it off, but it comes back after a couple hours. I'm not wearing any lotions or anything to interact with the polish. The polish is Revlon Nail Enamel - Color: Totally Toffee (if that matters).

Have you ever heard of nail polish forming it's own powdery white film? Why would it do this?

(Sorry guys, I know this is completely boring for you. I'll try to think of a totally amazing masculine topic next time.)

Hmmm, you might have better results on the Beauty & Health group though :P

re:

I thought of that, but the response time there can be a bit slow. I might add it there as well, but I guess I want instant gratification (boring day... need to fill the time so my day goes faster) and the main boards are as close to that as I can get.

Re:

I've never even heard of this happening :x maybe it's a fault with that one bottle?! Ring Revlon's consumer hotline about it.. at the very least you should get a refund & get a new bottle to test the theory!

re:

I just shot them an email... can't bitch on the phone about my nail polish at work. :D

Re:

It's either a fault in the bottle or a fault with the line.. well i'd think so anyway

So much for instant gratification:

"The Revlon Consumer Information Center has received your comments from our website. Thank you for taking the time to contact us. Our response time to your inquiry may be several days. We appreciate your patience and understanding."

Who said I have patience ...or understanding?
Plplplpllplplplpl! :P

I used nail polish remover before, but not right before. (Maybe 10 min.) Then a quick rinse off in cold water and dried before polishing.

Actually some nailpolish removers leave those sort of white powdery substance because of some chemical1 present in them. So if you are using a new remover then that might be the case.

It's true, this isn't really that important, but who knows, some chick may be out there with a hair-color emergency... now that can't wait a few days!

and

Good customer service should be important to companies of all sizes.

Still doesn't change the fact that said chick could call for immediate help :P

E-mail is only a part of a costumer service. A company could have a good/great/decent costumer service, while having a shit response time for e-mail.

If it was my hair that was f'ed up, I would have taken the day off and called them. :D

re

If it was mine, I'd just have called them anyways.

Re:

You're just using cheap crappy nail polish. Try a salon brand such as OPI or Ciaté.
