It never ceases to amaze me how tastless some people can be.

Comedian Gilbert Gottfried (known as the Voice of Disney's Iago from Aladdin and the Duck from Aflac) was fired from the latter mentioned insurance company after posting jokes about the recent quake/tsunami/nuclear disaster in Japan on Twitter.
Actress Joan Rivers is Defending Gottfried and anyone else who wants to crack jokes about the thousands of victims struck by this disaster. She belives Gottfried was wrongly terminated.

So let me see if I am understanding this correctly, and please, speak up if I am wrong;
Millions of homes were destroyed in the biggest earthquake ever recorded for that country, thousands of people were killed and are missing as a result of a monstorous tidal wave that even swept passanger trains full of people out to sea, dead bodies are washing up on shore, millions of people are without electricity, heat, clean water or a bed to sleep on, hundreds more are being scanned for radiation poisoning, Japanese Americans are in a state of panic and because they cannot reach their loved ones back home and fear they may be DEAD, many are still without aid or medical attention, an entire NATION of people are suffering and terrified.... and apparantly that's hilarious?

Gee, I must a dumb blonde, 'cuz I'm too stupid to comprehend the humor in this situation.

But maybe I'm wrong... Hey, while we're at it, let's make fun of all the saps who died when the Twin Towers fell on 09/11! Oooh, what about all the Jews that were slaughtered in the Holocaust? That should be worth a couple of yuks. How about all those people who lost their homes and loved ones in Hurricane Katrina, that was some funny stuff.
No wait, I've got it– Let's make jokes about how Joan Rivers' husband committed suicide. Now THAT'S hilarious! LOL!

Hmm, that's strange. All this talk about suffering and devastation and I'm not even the slightest bit amused... why is that I wonder?

Perhaps I have no sense of humor? Or wait, maybe it's because-
