Dang, this month really flew by! It was awesome though.
October really is my favorite month... the costumes, the nightlife, the creepy crawly decoractions of horror and decay... I love it all! (yes, I am a fan of the macabre in case you haven't figured it out by now, lol)
This year's major event/project was preparing 2 costumes for a Halloween dance party.
I'm a big fan of Buzz and Jessie from Toy Story, and after watching TS3 I began brainstorming on what Buzz and Jessie Spanish Dance outfits would look like. I sketched it out on paper then I went and bought the materials... Thus was the start of the annual Fall Sewing Madness!!
I'm rather pleased with the way they came out. (I'll try to post pictures when I can)
So needless to say, on the 29th my handsome husband and I went to the Avalon Ballroom in Peoria for a night of waltz, rumba, salsa, and east coast swing as Jessie the Dancing cowgirl and a very muscular Buzz in a smexy bolero <3
'Ya know, for a guy who claims he's not big on ballroom dancing, he sure never passes up a chance to twirl me around. LOL.
It was a lot of fun, and romantic (thank youuuuuu slow dances!) And of course, I'm the lucky lady who came on the arm of the best looking guy there.
Then on All Hallows Eve we upped the ante'. As usual the front yard was decked out to be the spookiest in the neighborhood, there were several kids who flat out REFUSED to come anywhere near our house 'cuz it was too scary (what can I say? We like to go all out, baby!)
But rather than waiting in the house for the trick-or-treaters, we set up shop outside in the graveyard. We lit our spookey candelabra and Mom, my brother and myself all dressed up as vampires (not the wannabe twighlight pansies, but REAL undead blood-sucking creatures of the night) lured the the poor little childrens in with the promise of candy.... But once the foolish youngsters had claimed their precious treats they met their gruesome fate at the claws of the werewolf who lurked in the shadows! MUWAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA! *ahem*
So yeah, my husband dressed up as a werewolf, complete with scary mask and gloves, hid in the dark, and jumped out and scared the ever-living daylights out of small children. One Ballerina even cried! It was epic. Those kids are gonna have bed-wetting nightmares until Christmas, lol!
Today was the sad start of cleaning up the gore.... *sigh* though I DID get to video-record my husband chucking pumpkins from the top of the roof and smashing to pieces on the driveway... that was fun... even the neighbors came out to watch.
Everyday is like an adventure and I'm very lucky to share it with the man I love.
(Okay, that's enough mush for now, I promise!)
