I got an msn message from him yesterday, unfortunately I didn't get to chat with him long.

I've decided that 8 miles is too long to hike in the snow.

However, in my last couple hikes I've learned some winter hiking tips.

Keep the chewy granola bars in my inside pocket. I've found that 20 degree weather makes them not so chewy.

Don't throw your camel back in the car and leave it there for a week then just grap it to take hiking.

I hiked another 5 miles of the buckeye trail this weekend. I couldn't get anyone crazy enough to go with me in 17degree weather and no one would drop me off so I had to hike 2.5 miles on Saturday, turn around and hike back to my car. And then another 2.5 on Sunday (5 miles round trip).

It's so comfortaing to see foot prints in the snow so I realized I'm not the only insane one out there.
