I am going to "sponsor" a girl in the Dominican Republic from a company called Children International. I am not 100% convinced that the money goes directly to the child but it seems reasonable. The company has been around for over 70 years so they must be doing something right. Plus it seems to me to be the right thing for me to do, at this time. It's been awhile since I tried to save someone, and when I did, I had the best years of my life....

As I wrote a few days ago, I think Susanna Hoffs is one of the most hypnotic girls I have ever seen. It also didn't hurt that she wore about the most incredibly short skirts while performing. Around 1996, she gave a free lunchtime concert at the World Trade Center. I got there early to get a good seat, about 50 feet from the stage. She didn't disappoint. While I had only pure intentions watching her, I am pretty sure I glimpsed her panties...probably a dream that many other guys would have loved to have. But her best quality is how she uses her eyes...and she knows it.

I started watching the TV show "The Office" last year when they started showing reruns. The first time I saw it I didn't like it because of them talking to the cameras all the time. But it really is a great show, especially if you have worked in a lot of offices.

The characters have very real qualities and the situations are very funny. Last night there was a new HR person (Holly) who was introduced to a heavy guy named Kevin as someone who was hired as part of a special program for the develeopmentally slow (which he is not). So Holly sees Kevin at a snack machine and she thinks he is confused how to use it. She counts his money for him then tells him which snacks he can buy with the money. He doesn't catch on that she is treating him like a moron, but says to the camera that he likes her and that she is very helpful. I laughed out loud.

I think Susanna Hoffs in this video of a great song is irresistable. She is the epitome of what it means to be pretty, and seems vulnerable too. She has a way of looking into the camera like she is looking straight into your soul. As she sings, "He is crazy for this girl".

There are many kind of secrets, big and small. I am thinking about ones that only someone who trusts you deeply would ever share with anyone. Friend, God knows how to turn the hearts of people, and if He doesn't turn them, He can certainly move them out of the way. You have to remember that He is working behind the scenes on your behalf. He's got the right people, the right breaks, the right opportunities lined up for you. With God there are no disadvantages. You may have been through some bad breaks in life. You may have had some disappointments, but let me encourage you; don't stay on that page. There are new chapters up ahead. The Scripture talks about how God has recorded every day of our life before we were ever even born. That means there's a book already written with your life story in it, and it has a great ending! It's not over until God says it's over, so keep standing, keep believing, keep hoping because God has wonderful things in store for your future!

I bought a new HP Pavilion desktop computer. It seems to work great except on spinchat. First it seemed not to have the java code and downloaded and installed it. Then when I try to sign in, the computer gives me a "Data Execution Prevention" error and makes some comment about malicious code. I have to research it further. Till then using my other computer on spinchat.

Investment "experts" will always tell you the way to invest is to diversify your portfolio, that is to have investments in many different companies and sectors. However my experience has been that this approach will only ensure that you will not get rich, and at best will keep up with how the stock market is doing on average. I have tried investing in a variety of companies, as well as heavily investing in one or two companies only. When I diversify, I have usually broken even, or had a small profit or loss. When I invested heavily in one or two companies that I strongly believed would do well, I have gotten huge profits. This approach however is obviously not for everyone. Also, the largest potential profits are in companies the "experts" will tell you to avoid.

This list may be the best movie soundtrack I have ever seen. It is from the movie Grosse Point Blank starring John Cusack. Besides being an amazing compilation of songs, somehow the woman who I have cuddled with the most in my life made the #21 song on this list. True story, I don't think I have ever held anyone in my arms more than her. You just never know who you might meet.

My old turntable has been acting up so I bought a new one, with a USB connection. I started burning some of the LPs to CDs and they sound pretty good. The copy software has a restoration feature that removes some of the imperfections on the vinyl and works very well.
