![]() Songs have so many memoriesOther · December 7th, 2010 23:29 This is one of them. I dedicate this to the girl who probably loved me more than any other girl. I met her on November 3, 1998. I knew she was special that day. In fact, that night I posted something about her on the internet that she was the right girl for me. Now that was in 1998, when not many people were even on the internet. Heck, that message is probably still archived out there. Anyway, four days after meeting her, she told me she loved me. I kind of knew it anyway without her saying it. This is the song that was popular at the time and makes me think of her whenever I hear it. Every Morning - Sugar Ray Smart carOther · December 7th, 2010 20:41 · 3 comments My new car has all kinds of stuff that I am finding out about. There is a display in the dashboard that you can set it show various things like speed, but also other stuff. Plus when I turn the motor on during these cold mornings, the display tells me there may be ice on the roads because it senses the air temperature is 32 degrees. Now that is a smart car! Holiday tippingOther · December 7th, 2010 17:27 Some people get agressive about asking for holiday tips. The newspaper delivery guys are usually the first ones to include a card with a convenient return envelope. One of these guys usually leaves my newspaper about a foot from the sidewalk. No big deal, but he leaves my neighbor's newspaper inches from their door. So a few years ago I figured maybe I wasn't tipping him enough throughout the year, so I started including a 33% tip each week. Then there was a snowfall a little while later, and the guy threw the newspaper into a pile of snow about 10 feet away. I stopped including a regular tip after that. I still give the paper guys a holiday tip, but I reduced it to $10 this year instead of the normal $20 I usually give. Today is the greatest dayOther · December 7th, 2010 16:10 Today is the 17th anniversary of the LIRR massacre. I was on that train and heard the gunshots. It was a time when my life was spared, and that was not the only time. Despite life's sorrows, troubles, worries, heartaches, it is worth living. Today is the greatest day I've ever known. Serenity now!Other · December 7th, 2010 10:38 |
