Manic Mile and the Workroom

Some of you dear readers may know that my wife, dearest light of my life and joined at the hip forever, is a very creative woman when it comes to miniature dollhouses. Excuse me, Victorian Replicas. This ain't Barbie's Malibu Home. This sage green and cream masterpiece is an award winner, or will be when it's done. (I'll add pics when it's completed) With an intense attention to detail this does not get much better. First, this has been her "dream home" for many years and we were able to find the shell in Oregon and bring it back with us. This particular model was designed and built by a somewhat famous builder in the dollhouse world. But, even his design couldn't stand up to the wife's meddling. We changed a few things, added stuff, cut off stuff, well.....let's just say it's unique. It's only partially done yet (these projects take years just due to the expense of materials) but, I would say that in a fair market the value would be somewhere between 10 and 12 thousand dollars when completed and sold. Of course, this one won't be sold. Taken to the fair and bedecked in blue ribbons maybe but, never sold. Echo Bay Bed and Breakfast will prove to be her finest attempt. She's done several before including one her ex built that was massive, heavy and wouldn't fit through doors. (she thought about burning it but, donated it instead) But, there is one.......little.........problem. For months now the dollhouse has sat in our kitchen. While the guest bedroom gathered dust bunnies waiting for the non-moving-up-here and visits-once-in-a-blue-moon daughter. But, she didn't want to have no bed if she did come up. So therein lay the crux of the problem. A bed for the daughter. Solution....a pull-out loveseat. The wife finds one........In Omaha. Two and half hour drive one way. To pick up "the perfect" loveseat couch for the wife's new workroom. Oh, did I mention staying up the night before putting on the second coat of paint so it would look nice when the couch went in? Yeah......that was me, the guy who's stoned out of his mind flying down I-80 at 70MPH wondering how the heck am I going to get this beast into that little itty bitty room. I hurt. I think I need more,
