Though it pains me to say this; this is for the scammers and rip-off artists who plague our world (for shame on you! Honesty is the first virtue.) All thoughts, stories and what-not's on this site are the sole property of the writer and are my own original thoughts. Reprinting or publishing any part thereof without permission of the author will be deemed a violation of my copyrights withstanding on all content here within. So...keep your hands to yourself. Have a nice day.

For there to be copyright infringement a copyright has to legally exist . What you're describing is plagiarism, which when posted on a public site would be impossible to prosecute .

I think Russ is right .........anything posted in here is up for grabs unless it is protected by copyright.

copying someone is meant to be the best form off flattery hun, feel sorry for them that they the hav nt got the talent to come up with their own words, i can imagine being bloody annoying but dont let it stop you writing :)

Copyright infringement of original thought, whether public or private is still enforced even on Spinchat if you clearly state intention of publication. Which I just did. You CAN prosecute those who copy/publish your original thoughts without your permission. Just covering my ass, guys. You really didn't need to comment. Since I already have copyrights on some of my stories, new stories written on here are also covered. It's a legal term.....but, it must be stated.

Good luck with that

Whtsxrl24....it's called "body of work". If just one of these stories on here is under copyright, which it is (and I don't have to say which one..), the copyright extends to all within the body of work (James vs. Lenox). Same goes if you made a music collection. The copyrights are not just singular but, covered as one complete package. Basically, it's the same as a "poor man's copyright"...mailing the stories back to yourself. The posted date verifies when it was created. These stories are dated, therefor they would be viewed as original works with the same compunction of law as any other copyrighted material. I've been publishing for years and know the in's and out's of this legal matter. I simply do not want some dickwad to steal my stories and try to publish them for profit. there is a fine line between plagiarism and copyrighted infringement. Since I've spent several years as a paralegal, I know the difference.

Again , good luck w that

These people let legally issued copyrights lapse and the material became public domain . That body of work thing you claim sure didn't help them .https://www.plagiarismtoday.com/2013/12/05/wonderful-copyright-life/

mine have NOT lapsed. If you took the time, there is a sub-article on "How To.." next to the article you referred to. I think I covered that. Having a copyright lapse is a different issue altogether. Most people just don't realize that even though this is a blog site, you can still protect yourself by simply stating what I already stated above. The only thing missing is the copyright symbol (the c inside a circle) but, it isn't necessary to include that. Your "body of work" is protected under US and international laws but, only if you make clear your intentions and one or several stories have been copyrighted there within. Come on guys, this wasn't meant to be a debating session on copyright laws. I know what I'm doing and just trying to keep the scammers at bay.
