Crimon Java or Karimun Java or Karimunjava (Indonesian: Karimunjawa / Karimun Jawa) is an archipelago of 27 islands in the Java Sea, Indonesia, somewhere around Eighty kilometres northwest of Jepara. The islands' name means 'a stone's throw from Java' in Javanese. This archipelago have a total land area of 78 km square. The main isle is recognized as Karimun (2,700 ha), and the next-largest isle is an island named Kemujan (1,400 ha).
In 2011, the population of the island group was approximately 9,000 who lived on 5 of major islands. The people is mostly Javanese, with pockets of Bugis and Madurese occupants. Javanese tradition is dominant in the islands which are the only islands off Java where Javanese is the lingua franca.
